Though we cover topics of the past, we look to find connections to current issues and situations in the United States and abroad. We also look to develop student’s critical thinking, writing, and organizational skills throughout their three years at Ottoson.
In sixth grade, there is a concentration on ancient and classical civilizations using a thematic approach. The areas we will be covering within our themes are prehistory, Ancient Egypt, Mesopotamia, Ancient Greece, Ancient Rome, Ancient China, and Ancient Mesoamerica.
